Meet our C.E.O. Zoe

Faux Paws

Hi, I'm Zoe!  I started Faux Paws in 2006 when I was 11 years old. Since then, my involvement in animal advocacy has only expanded. I spent many years working in veterinary medicine before starting a career in wild animal conservation and research. I have always been passionate about working with animals, and I have been very fortunate to have found a career that allows me to continue this childhood passion.

I am a graduate of Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Biological Anthropology from Boston University.  My focus is on the gut microbiome of Bornean orangutans living in Gunung Palung National Park, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Read more about my academic career here.

Faux Paws originated from the idea that it is a faux pas to wear fur. Thus, all of my products are made with faux fur.  All of the proceeds are donated to organizations that support the welfare of animals!
